Our software reads the public pages and documents of official AJK and Pakistani government sites and institutions, and keeps the text with the page address and the date it was read. Where an official site refuses our server, we use pages saved by a person in a browser, or dated copies from the Internet Archive, and each says so.

Software checks each draft against the page it came from: an official source exists, the required fields are filled, nothing contradicts the page, and the page was read recently.

When the software is unsure, or two sources disagree, the item waits for a person. People also read the problems that visitors report.

A record that passes is published without a person reading it, and it says so ("published after automatic checks only"). Every record shows its official source and the date it was read.
Completeness checksTakmeel ki jaanchتکمیل کی جانچ
Before a record is published automatically, it must pass these checks:
- Official source available: a link to the official page or document it was taken from. Required.
- Required fields completed: for a service, that means the summary, required documents and process steps. Required.
- Matches the page: a fee, phone number, time or date is kept only if the page states it.
- Recently read: a dated archive copy older than a year is background only, shown with its date, and not taken as the current fee.
We never estimate fees. When a fee has not been confirmed, the page tells you to confirm it at the office.

When an official page changes, our software notices and the record is checked again. Every change to a published record is recorded permanently: who or what made it, the old and new values, and when. That history cannot be edited or deleted.
How an answer is madeJawab kaise banta haiجواب کیسے بنتا ہے
The assistant looks, in this order, for:
- a published record;
- official pages we have read;
- a fresh search of official sites;
- and last, general information.
The label on each answer says which of these it is:
- Record or official page: the facts come from a source named on the answer, with the date it was read.
- From official pages, not yet reviewed: our software read these official pages for your question and no person has checked the answer. Open the linked page before you rely on it.
- General information, not from an official source: we found no official page that answers it. It contains no fees, dates or phone numbers, because we cannot verify them.
Numbers. A fee, a phone number, a time or a date appears in an answer only if the page we cite states it; the software checks this before an answer is kept. Where only non-official pages state a figure, two independent sites must agree, or it is left out. A page from a non-official public source (an encyclopedia, a UN body) is marked “not an official source”.
What it does not do. It does not take your CNIC number, a password or an OTP, it does not sign you in anywhere, and it does not fill in or send a form for you. Our guides tell you what to prepare and where to go, and keep nothing.
When it is wrong. Every answer has a report link. A person reads the reports; wrong information is corrected or removed, and the correction is recorded.

You can ask and read in English, Urdu (اردو) and Roman Urdu. The Urdu and Roman Urdu wording of the site is still being read by native speakers; if something reads wrongly, please report it.
Our crawlerHamara crawlerہمارا کرالر
Websites that list our crawler in their logs will find it under this name: AskAboutAJK-Bot. It reads public pages and PDF documents of official Pakistani and AJK government and public-institution websites so that answers can quote them with a link back to the page.
- It reads from one fixed server address, 129.213.89.116.
- It follows each site's robots.txt, including any crawl delay, makes one request at a time per site and waits at least two seconds between requests.
- It reads public pages only: no logins, no forms, no private areas. If a site refuses it, it stops and does not try another route; we ask the site's owner for permission instead.
- It keeps the text of a page with the page address and the date, and shows it only with a link to the original.
A website owner who wants the crawler to stop, slow down or be allowed can tell us through the report a problem page.
